Sprinkler Pipe Sizing
Sprinkler Pipe Sizing allows you to size a sprinkler piping network based on NFPA 13 charts or custom user-defined charts.
Entire System Sizing Method:
- This option prompts you to select a pipe. Ensure the selected pipe belongs to the system you want to size.
Branch Sizing Method:
- This option requires you to select specific branches. Be sure to select all elements within the branches you wish to size.
Sprinkler Quantity
- Before using Sprinkler Quantity, ensure that a project parameter is added for the Pipe and Flex Pipe categories. The parameter should be named "HeadQuantity", and its type should be set to Integer.
- Sprinkler Quantity fills the HeadQuantity Integer parameter for Pipes and Flex Pipes, indicating the total number of sprinklers connected downstream from each pipe, including those on all connected branches and sub-branches. Basically how many sprinklers each pipe can serve by design.
- When you start Sprinkler Quantity, you will be prompted to select a pipe. Ensure the selected pipe belongs to the system for which you want to set the parameters.
Sprinkler Path
Before using Sprinkler Path, ensure that a project parameter is added for the Sprinkler category. The parameter should be named "OpenHead" and its type set to Yes/No.
Sprinkler Path creates an OmniCADD project file based on your sprinkler model.
- First, you need to run Sprinkler Quantity to fill the HeadQuantity information, which is required for Sprinkler Path to function.
- Select the sprinkler heads you want to include in your hydraulic calculations and set their OpenHead parameter to Yes.
- Ensure the OpenHead parameter of other sprinkler heads in the system is set to No.
Using Sprinkler Path:
- Start Sprinkler Path.
- You will be prompted to select a pipe.
- After selecting the pipe, choose where to save your OmniCADD file, give it a name, and click OK.
